With strong ties to the land, the people of Ashe County take pride in being the custodians of the scenic New River. The river is thought to be the second oldest river in the world and was selected as one of 14 American heritage rivers by Presidential Executive Order in 1998. All ten parcels in Skye Ridge have private New River access and the majority have river frontage, river views, or both.
